There is only you in the light
“And no dream is ever just a dream.”
Been writing lil blurbs and jumbled sentences n phrases that all kinda circled around this topic and like the “themes” I mentally associate with it, so here’s my bestest attempt at trying to put such things in order. It’s subpar in terms of cohesion but all the stuff I have in my head about “”This Thing”” is still not quite in order and I’m unsure if it will ever be lol. It does really get me writing tho🤓🙂↕️ I’m really not skillful nor graceful when it comes to writing and find myself just jotting ideas down and hope they come together like a puzzle (they rarely do), but this one is intentionally more “”””abstract””” for funsies.
Some notes:
-The “Duration” I mention in the beginning refers to Henri Bergson’s concept of la duree. He defines time as “a dynamic continuum, with the past 'bleeding' into the present and the future”. I’m not well-read on the subject at all and moreso came across it spontaneously at the right time, but found it to be very interesting.
-Even I have some questions about certain parts and what I’m trying to say/conclude to here. And I think that’s fun:”) Shows there’s still much more to be said once I find the right words
-The concept of the “infinite edge of the memory” came to me during calculus class like 3 years ago lol😭 Its not something I’ve fleshed out completely, but like…….I guess it’s how memories, at least for me, occupy this limitless, endless space, making them seem endless in a similar way. I think it works well with Bergson’s concept of la duree….and his work probably explains it better than I could😮💨
